4 piano arpeggiated chord pattern exercises!

Introduction

Welcome to Grassroots Piano! In this video, we will be focusing on four piano arpeggiated chord pattern exercises. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience with the piano, these exercises will help you improve your skills and add some variety to your playing.

So, let's dive in and start learning!

Chords and Patterns

Before we begin with the exercises, let's take a moment to familiarize ourselves with the chords we'll be using. We'll be working with four chords: G major, E minor, B minor, and D major.

Memorizing the notes and hand shape for each chord is important for these exercises.

Pattern 1: Ascending Arpeggios

The first pattern we'll be practicing involves ascending arpeggios. It starts off easy, but there's a potential challenge with maintaining the groove.

I'll provide some tips to help you with that. Remember, these patterns are used in many songs, so mastering them will give you a versatile skill set.

Pattern 2: Descending Arpeggios

Pattern 2 is similar to the first one, but it focuses on descending arpeggios. Pay special attention to the fifth, B, and the weaker fingers, the pinky and fourth finger.

Practice pressing the keys evenly to achieve a clean sound.

Pattern 3: Up and Down Arpeggios

Pattern 3 involves playing arpeggios going up and down. This is a common pattern that you may have already encountered.

Practice going through the pattern smoothly and experiment with dynamics and pedaling to add your own personal touch.

Pattern 4: Rhythmic Arpeggios

Pattern 4 is my personal favorite because it has a cool rhythm and transitions smoothly between chords. It follows a specific count and emphasizes the beats to create a musical and phrased sound.

Don't be afraid to make mistakes and use them as opportunities for growth and creativity.
